Marketing your show is the best way to trigger the podcast algorithms, start getting ranked, and monetize your show.
Yes, a 15 month contract
It’s a marathon not a sprint. The best way to get your show ranked is marketing in two phases, over a period of 15 months or longer.
Our two phase system allows us to hack the podcast algorithms so you can get to the top and stay there.
In some ways it’s beneficial to copy what others are doing with their marketing and advertising. They say “don’t reinvent the wheel” and “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. There’s a lot of truth to this, which is why we implement many advertising strategies that are working for others but we’ve also been doing PM/DM campaigns for several years with great success. One reason why this strategy works is because we’re the only people doing this for podcast growth right now. Yes it is a ton of manual labor but the way we’re doing it, it’s absolutely worth it. We utilize our 5-3-5 Method for our clients and it’s getting some great results (For more information on the 5-3-5 Method listen to 128th episode from our podcast).
If you’re looking for specific deliverables, there are only a few. Marketing and advertising for individual podcasts in different genres (there are hundreds) and completely unique avatars becomes much more an art than it is a science. Some strategies that work great for one listener avatar might only work for them while others could work for a number of avatars. So while we have implemented over a dozen forms of marketing and advertising over the 60+ podcasts that we’ve served. We can’t promise we’ll use the same strategies for your show with only three exceptions:
1. Every client, regardless of level, will be placed on at least one particular podcast database. We pay for it to be connected through this database with the RSS feed so that any time you publish an episode, it will be updated automatically there. We actually pay for your show to be up for a lifetime so even years after your contract with us, you’ll still be growing your show.
2. Pro, Platinum, and Gold clients get an allocated monthly Ad Spend Budget. Up to $5/day with Gold, $25/day with Platinum, and $67/day with Pro (budget comes out of what you’re already paying additionally the $5/day-$67/day ad-spend is ON TOP of our creative costs and ad management costs that we spend for split testing and tweaking ads).
3. Pro, Platinum, and Gold clients have a dedicated team member from GYS trained for their podcast growth spending. This is done through a “Private Message Campaign”. Pro level clients have one or two team member(s) dedicated to 20-40 hours a week on their show’s growth. Platinum level clients have one member of our staff whose job (10-20 hours a week) is to send DMs/PMs to their avatar through social media platforms. Gold level clients have one PART-TIME staff member who spends 5-10 hours a week sending DMs/PMs to their avatar through social media platforms.
When our clients have just sat back and let us work, they have still gotten results. So far we have not yet had a client not achieve (or even exceed) the expected results for their podcast. Even when they wanted to sit back and let us be their easy button so they could focus on their own business. But if you and/or your team have capacity to add some fuel to the fire then it will amplify what GYS is doing. We have seen podcasts grow faster and farther when it’s a concerted effort. The main difference is the listenership you can achieve from package to package. These numbers can vary but the larger the budget we put toward paid advertising the higher chance your listener base will grow. Besides some of the nuances shared in FAQs #3 & #4 above, here’s a simple breakdown between the packages:
a) PRO is our top-tier marketing package. Our team works incredibly hard for you when you select this package, and we promise your show will rank in the top 1% of all shows globally within 12 months.
b) PLATINUM is our mid-level marketing package. We still work very hard on your behalf, and we promise you’ll reach the top 3% of all shows globally within 12 months.
c) GOLD is our lowest marketing package. We still work very hard on your behalf, and we promise you’ll reach the top 10% of all shows globally within 12 months.
We can’t fully anticipate the number of downloads your show will get, but after marketing for dozens of other podcasts as long as we have, and tracking the results, most of our clients fit into this range:
a) PRO: After 6-12 months your show could see an additional 7,500-30,000 downloads than you’re currently getting each month.
b) PLATINUM: After 6-12 months your show could see an additional 5,500-21,000 downloads than you’re currently getting each month.
c) GOLD: After 6-12 months your show could see an additional 1,200-5,900 downloads than you’re currently getting each month.
